Top Picks support thread

Good morning, I bought the license a few days ago because I liked the idea of being able to have top9 on my emby, I have looked at all the configuration with what my colleagues talk about to make it work correctly, but I can't get it to work well.
1st Can I stop the series from repeating when continuing to watch?
2nd How can I put the top9 list in order? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 7, 9, 6 It doesn't come out correctly

@ParpatrusFor the ordering of the media in Top Pick. I goto the Top Picks Library and the sort by date added.

This arranges them in number order.

 

As for the duplicate entries on continue watching, I dont think that this can be changed but someone may be able to add more on that

Thank you. The ordering works in the Top Picks library, but not on the home screen.

Sorry, I have only changed the Sort order in TopPicks Library and that changed the order on Homescreen.

Have you tried clearing browser cache?

It has a trial period of I believe 7 Days. You can DL it from the plugins catalog under general.

Sorry, on the top picks plugin page it says: "The trial period for this feature has expired".

Trying this out, is there any way to adjust logic for what is being chosen?

Half of the items chosen I just watched within the past month, other items were just a series I am actively watching, and then I had about one or two items that were related to things I watched. Only the latter made sense for me to be on the list.

I'm hoping to help others navigate a large collection with this, but the top picks that came out in my first test were not very helpful. Any tips?

Tengo un problema, el 13 de diciembre pagué por el plugin pero ha dejado de funcionar, he mirado y dice expirado.

Any updates on not using the numbering of items altogether as an option? It seems it would solve a lot of problems for people who have them out of order anyway + it would add more functionality to the plugin.

I could even use it as a "Movie of the week" kind of plugin where I only select one movie to be shown on the homepage (provided I can change the title of the section as well - right now it shows "Latest *Library name*", but the "latest" part should be optional then to truly name it "Movie of the week")

Same here.  Don't even see a place to put in a serial or whatever, so not sure how it can pick it up remotely.

Hi guys! I'm here. 

Had some life get in the way of coding last year, but I can answer questions, and also see about some keeping up with compatibility updates for the future.

 

To answer the duplicate question, unfortunately no, there is no way (that I am aware of) of stopping the duplicate items from appearing in the library. 

This is because top picks creates a db entry in order to view it in emby.

 

I won't be able to back track to far in this thread, so if there is something pressing, please post again.

Let me look into this.

The items that appear are most likely watched items. The more people on the server the more information it has to pull watched data from.

It calculates what everybody is watching and sorts it in a popular rank.

It could be possible to look at other apis that list popular items and try to compare library items to those lists.

But, the apis need to be free, or public ally accessible.

al instalar el complemento y agregar las películas que quiero que aparezcan no aparecen e su lugar muestra películas de hace meses de antes de fallar el complemento, y las galerías de medios desaparecen, solo reiniciando el servidor vuelven a aparecer pero el complemento aun no funciona, en mi caso mejor lo desinstale por que no funciona (el complemento lo pgue)

TMDB has a popular movies and TV shows section. Possibly you could cross reference that and add in order if library contains the content, and moving down the list until 9 are added.

I bought the Top Picks plugin (simply to support your awesome work) , but the Paypal redirect threw out an error and did not return to Emby Server.
But the payment was successful (got an email). I dont know if you are able to assign the payment to my account nevertheless. Mail adress from paypal payment is in the PM, Registered Emby Premiere address also
