Top Picks support thread

My top picks haven't changed for months and I have no evidence of top picks in my emby server pages. Nothing at all in scheduled tasks etc

Sorry for the delay.

Did the plugin create a library called Top Picks?

Previously trailed the plugin a few years back and have just come to add it back to my emby server. I can install the plugin, but when i get to the config i get stuck on a spinning circle and cant ever edit the settings.

The plugin page in the plugin store shows "The trial period for this feature has expired" but when i click on the paypal link nothing happens. 

 

Any help getting this installed working and licensed?

Hi!

Just installed and resgistered the plugin but nothing is showing up. Library Top Picks is not created.

Emby server 4.8.8.0 running on PC Windows 11 Pro.

Any help getting this working?

Yes, restarted the server several times, nothing happened.

I'm not sure... 

It probably does. There is a trial, so you could test it. 

I don't use test the beta server anymore.... So I dont know for sure.

buen dia, tuve que desinstale el complemento ya que no me detectaba las peliculas que seleccionaba, también provocaba cierto error en el programa de emby ya que no detectaba ninguna carpeta de la biblioteca, cabe mencionar que lo instale mas de tres veces y aun reiniciando el servidor y hasta el pc no volvió a funcionar

Sorry you had to uninstall. Would you be interested in sharing a log from that time? I could see what was happening.

Hi,
I had an issue with the plugin earlier, but I reinstalled it, and it seems to be working correctly now. However, it says that my license is not up to date. I have tried paying twice through PayPal, but it didn’t work. Could you please contact me and help me reactivate the license for the top picks ? I would be very happy to use the plugin, as it looks great.

I recently re-installed the plugin after I noted that it hadn't updated my Top Picks since March 2024, and now afte re-install it's just "hanging" - I deleted the plugin, the library, and then deleted the previous "top picks" from the emby config folders, restarted the server and the PC hosting it, and then re-installed the plugin. Then when I go to "update Top Picks" it just sits there for several hours not doing anything. Here are my plugin settings:

I wonder if something changed I. The core image enhancers. 

I'll have to load it up and see if there is some compatibility changes...

Yip it also stopped working for me. 
When i try to update the top picks i get forever spinning and nothing gets updated. 
Restarting server doesn't help. Keeps spinning. 
But worse of it is that now all libraries are not longer visible in the backend. 
Shows "0 libraries".
Restarting server also doesn't help with this.
I will have to uninstall the plugin for now sadly. 
Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

I use a script that creates a collection from trakt. it's working well

Is it possible to use this collection only with top picks ? I can't add this collection and i have add to favorite but it's no detected by Top Pick. A solution ?

I have a comment here - just registered as a paid user of this having used it for movies and it's been great. I have it enabled for tv shows now and i notice it dupes content in my "Currently Watching" section. 

Forgive My ignorance about how this works internally, but could this plugin just modify the existing metadata and tag the content with a custom tag, then when the library scrape happens, add some kind of tag on the content item itself without having to duplicate the content in the library? 

See my attached image - i have Tomb Raider showing up twice - once because i have been watching it and the second item is the Top Picks library item. 

 

 

## Why couldn't you do something like this with css and a div and a span tag or something on the original library item that gets shown?

#### EDIT - This is also happening for movies in Currently watching as well. But they don't get duped since shows have layers (Show/Season/Episode).

And i guess you are already sorta doing my original proposed solution. So i think you just need to also do that on the thumb image?

Yes, that is an unfortunate thing about creating the second db entry for top picks. It also duplicates the movie too, but it may not be as apparent as the TV series it.

Okay. Let's take a look. That missing thumb image is for the original version, or is the top pick version?

The missing thumb is for the original content @chef! Also they seem to be duping TV Shows in the currently watching section. 

 

I edited my post you replied to showing the movies also losing their thumb image.
