Luke had said it wouldn't be fixed for .27 and I didn't see anything in the notes for .28 either:

For top picks, the worst I have to do is remove the top pick tabs on the primary image.

Most of Top Picks accesses Skia directly, so worst case scenario tabs get removed.

But, that being said, I don't have a beta server up and running currently, soo... it is possible that they updated the actual Skia library in the beta server, and everything is still broken.

.28 did also not fix it, Toppicks is still crashing the server for the same reason.

Can wait....nobody forced me to install the beta

I think I can fix this.

I'm going to remove the library top pick tabs from a DLL, and we can see if it stops the crash.

I believe that is the only place I don't access the Skia libraries directly.

Right. I'm going to release a version. To the catalog today. Unfortunately, top picks currently will not run on beta server.

[RESOLVED] I just installed this plugin and it looks awesome!  Maybe I am configuring something wrong, but I cannot get the Home Screen collection to display correctly.  I only see 1 item (which isn't in the list) on the Home Screen Collection.  I had manually added that one item at the start, but it doesn't seem to have updated when the scheduled tasks ran. The overlays and everything else seem to work great.  I have restarted the server and manually run the scheduled tasks and still have the issue.  Any ideas?  Running beta 4.0.8.29 if that helps.  I've tried both the standard and beta plugins provided. 

Edit: Resolved by running a library scan... not sure why that fixed it, but looks amazing!

issue : top picks create Specials episode that didn't exist library (but exist in thetvdb), by using season1's file. attaching file generated by top picks;

I avoid that by using only the .nfo and picture files saved with the series and not having the TopPicks library ask any external providers

I love the reduced details page (without the audio and subtitle track dropdowns). Also the selection of the multi version 1080p/4K independent of the filename is terrific!

Is there any way to implement this for normal libraries? The core page is too cluttered for me.

That's default for strm files as they are not probed until first playback; once played, you'll get MediaInfo details as well.

No, but you can hide it with CSS for local Web app only.

Great plugin and I love it. But I have a bug with my continuous series as you see on screenshot.

I'd love to have the option for Top 10 as Netflix and not 9 (Top 9 ?? ) media.

The greater of all would be to have an option if you want merge top 10 (tv shows/ movies) or seperated top 10 movies and top 10 shows.

Hello, I really liked this plugin and used the trial. But when the trial expired and I paid the $3 on paypal but then I only get a receipt on paypal and a email from Emby Premier with a new subscription based premiere key that I tried to put in as my emby premiere key but then it takes away my Emby lifetime membership key so its useless for me. So I put my proper key back in the server and top picks is no longer working for me...   Is there a way to activate this or am I out the $3?

The PayPal email might not match the email you purchased emby premier with.

For some reason, top picks has been only selecting 6 items lately.

I used to have some pinned user defined items, but I since removed them. Could it be a bug related to that?

By the way, just tried reinstalling Top Picks, also tried rolling back to .49, deleting library, deleting the config Xml file, but no go.

Also, now it shows 5 items, not 6.

When I swap from TV shows to movies it selects a different set of 5, so it's not like it's stuck with the same ones.

Are there any plans making the plugin more like a suggestion system for movies a user may like based on what he already watched?

actually it shows me what i or other people watched this week, but i don't really think it is useful to get movies recommended i watched last week.


This is great if you have 50+ users on your server watching movies, but if you just have 3-5 people (and i watch the most on my own) so i will get almost my own already watched movies recommended.


I would really love to see it as a kind recommendation system based on what movies i like, a bit like netflix does it.

eg. if i watch 80% action it should recommend me action movies i haven't seen yet and i might like, or something like this.


Actually for me it is a bit like a report what people watched last week.
