Emby for Android TV now has sound with ATSC 3.0

A couple of months ago, I purchased an inexpensive insignia 4k TV for the bedroom.

Originally, I had no audio using the Android ATV version of Emby while playing the ATSC 3.0 channels.  This evening I tried it again, and bingo, the ATSC 3.0 channels play perfectly with audio.

Great job!!!  Emby Devs.

Edit:  One question.  I am making the assumption that Emby is able to use the ATSC 3 channels with the AC4 audio codec, because the TV supports that codec.  Is that the case, or is Emby decoding the AC4 codec regardless if the device supports that AC4 codec??

thanks

It does show that the AC4 audio codec is being transcoded.

Also, tested the ATSC 3 channels playing on my ONN box and the audio also plays.

That is a fantastic job that you guys did................

I know this is an old thread, but I'm bringing it back to life because I recently switched to the main Android app (due to the lack of support for the TV app) and it appears that AC4 is not supported.  Is there any way I can fix this on my end, or do I just need to go back to the ATV app?  That's a bummer since it is very buggy in other ways, but at least I can play ASTC3 channels on it.

Hi.  Exactly what ways?

The guide doesn't fully load on the start.  To get around this I have to scroll to the right, then back to the left and it resolves itself.  It seems to be less stable as it will pause randomly that requires backing out to the main menu and then back to the channel again.

Try setting your sort in the guide to "Last Played".
