My "TV Shows" and "Stand-Up Comedy" (custom folder) are both showing up as "offline" and the files are not playable through MBC.  Notably, these files are located on a specific drive (different than my "Movies," "Music," etc.).  The files are visible in Windows Explorer and playable through VLC (i.e., the drive does not appear corrupted).  I have tried doing library scans, but frankly I'm not sure what step to take next in diagnosing the issue.

*I am running the most current MBC (I updated/installed over an old version re: the server crashing issue many have already discussed in these forums recently) and MBS*

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

If they are showing as offline it means at the time of the last library scan we could not access them.  MBC does attempt to confirm offline items though when you try to play them so, if that still isn't working, it does indicate a problem accessing them.

Could be permissions or a share change or something else like that.  Logs would help determine more.

Okay, I'm away from my setup, but I will definitely upload an MBC log for you when I return.  Just to make sure I get you what you need, would you recommend a fresh start/login to MBC followed by some attempts to access the above-referenced files? Would you also like a server log to accompany the MBC log so you can view the library scan, as well?

The MBC log should be fine to start with.  Access and try and play one of these items.

Very strange, when I tried to run MBC as planned for logging purposes, a new beta update was prompted/recommended and that seemed to fix it on its own.  I'll report back if the behavior returns...

I had the same issue a few months back, and it was due to the server running a scheduled scan when my NAS was off.

I fixed my issue my scheduling scans to run only during times that my NAS is powered up.

The update was coincidental.  Adrian's explanation is probably correct.
