lenfari 0 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Hi all, newbie here. I'm wondering if I can play iso files stored in my local Windows file server with Kodi as an external player via my nearly purchased EMBY Android TV app?
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Hi, the real question is whether or not Kodi has added the feature on android to receive intents to play video from other players. If they have, then yes you can. My guess is probably, yes, but I don't know for sure.

So right now, according to what I leant from EMBY WIKI, I just need to install EMBY on my file server and set optional path for each hard drive for the direct access, right?
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Quote set optional path for each hard drive for the direct access, right Yes. Most apps are not using this information, but you can fill that out if desired.

I tried with an optional path. However, can't find Kodi as an external player via the EMBY app, and VLC can't play ISO as an external player, strange.
Luke 42077 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Have you considered makemkv to easily create mkv files from your iso's?
