Why hasn't a letter transcoding bug been fixed since the release of 4.6.7 to 4.7.8, and the problem I asked in September hasn't been solved in October?

The video card cannot be transcoded with PGSSUB subtitles. I ensure that my settings are correct and work normally in 4.6.7

The fix will be included in the next major release (4.8.x.x).

That's the latest Stable release.

Beta is v4.8.0.10.

How does the problem manifest?

Does it play and the subtitles are just not visible? Or does it fail to playback at all?

What happens when you disable hw acceleration in Emby?

Insert the default PGSSUB and PGSSUB subtitles in most transcoding videos. The video will stop hardware transcoding and start to use cpu transcoding.

All three situations will occur

The subtitles can be seen during playback. If the CPU is overloaded at this time, the video will be directly stuck. If you click the subtitle, the video will be hardware transcoded normally when the subtitle is not displayed.

Your logs are showing two problems

1. No PGS subtitles are visible when resuming playback (but they are visible when playing from the start)
   => This will be fixed in the next beta (ffmpeg version: 5.1-emby_2022_10_01or later)

2. Error with HW accelerated transcoding when subtitle overlay is done
  => This is currently under investigation

These issues are fixed in the latest Beta 4.8.0.12

Thanks Zayusi, i met same problems as yours and it confused me a lot. However many people have same problems but they do not know how to feedback it.

I tested the beta 4.8.0.13, it looks the transcoding problems are fixed. But there are other problems such as can not read soft linked video.

However, i hope the stable release will be OK as soon as possible.
