fatshotty 4 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Hello, I have activated the "detect intro" feature as per official announcement. I followed the guide to activate the "detect intro" feature. One activated every option for "detect intro", I started the scan task... It was 1 week ago... Emby is still scanning  I see that emby has scanned 'tvshows' folder and then the 'animated-tvshows' folder. It's ok because my media library is very large. Unfortunately, yesterday I saw that emby is returning scannin 'tvshows' , then 'animated-tvshows' without stopping I think the "detect intros" feature is making emby continue scanning... Here is some log from my emby: https://pastebin.com/jiAL9wzf Are these lines related to "detect intro" feature?
Luke 42078 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Hi, it may take a long time. Try configuring it to only run as a scheduled task, then restart the server and see if that helps the library scan complete quicker.
fatshotty 4 Posted September 28, 2022 Author Posted September 28, 2022 thanks for reply. it is already set as Scheduled Task, indeed it started 1 week ago at 3.00am (exactly as per scheduled task)
Luke 42078 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 So it's the scheduled task that's still going, not the library scan?
fatshotty 4 Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 I set 2 scheduled task: - Detect intros at 3.00am in 3 hours - scan library at 1.00am without stop time once activated "detect intros" emby started scan... I'm "tailing" the log file and seeing emby loops scanning 'tvshows' and 'animated-tvshows' folders without notifying new contents  It just loops scanning folders as per log in previous post thanks PS: i'm using emby 4.8.0.8 beta
fatshotty 4 Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 as per screenshot: yesterday the "Scan library" task was at 90.7% . Today it is on 86.6% . So... maybe it has re-started during the night?! However, now I remove any trigger for "detect intros" and "scan library" tasks, just to be sure emby doesn't re-start the scan... Let u know any news about that thanks
Luke 42078 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I wouldn't remove the triggers for detect intros. Just disable the option in library settings.
fatshotty 4 Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 Hi, i deleted triggers for "detect intros" and "scan media folders" and waited for each pending job to be completed. So, this night emby complted its pending job, fine! Now I restored triggers "detect intros" and it started as per scheduled time. Seeing log file, I note that emby is re-scanning all tvshows... indeed it started at 10.00am and it still scanning  Progress percentage job is still at 9.8% Just a question, to be sure: Once "detect intro" job has detect all intros for all tvshows , will it re-scan entire library on next job run? I mean: does emby know that a particular tvshow has already been scanned and "detected" all intros? In this way I expect that emby skips that tvshow thanks in advance

fatshotty 4 Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 it's still scanning. It is around 30% I think it is re-scanning all tvshows even they are not changed I'll do this: let emby continue "detecting intros" job; wait for emby completes the task. Then I'll manually start the "detect intros" job again and check if emby re-scan all tvshows or not. Let u know about that
