Identify with myanimelist don't work

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

for a while now it's not been pulling data from myanimelist anymore, so much plot, episodes, images, nothing, in the past I usually identify, after having some updates of the plugs that spoiled...

Can you see why it doesn't work anymore?

If this is about images, what is your image provider order?

From the log it would suggest FanArt.tv is first provider.

2022-09-26 22:32:21.958 Info HttpClient: GET https://assets.fanart.tv/fanart/tv/79824/tvposter/naruto-shippuuden-540233a15a443.jpg

Identify will show the Metadata download image but images will actually be gotten from your library setup image order.  Possibly changing in the near future as this has been discussed in several topic, why am I getting a different image then presented on Identify.

Exactly, I turned off all the others, I left only myanimelist, so it doesn't search for any images...

It searches and provides same error as above for me.  So I can see that error every time I go to edit image and select that provider.

@Luke @Happy2Play if I leave only the myanimelist plugin does not search for anything, I need to leave the anime plugin also to search for something.

Dev will have to comment as I really can't see anything in the log on what it is doing and don't see any cached metadata like other providers api calls.

Did you supply a username and password in the plugin settings, or leave them blank (leaving them blank is OK).

Plugin update resolved image issue.  But honestly do not know what metadata comes from this provider.

yes, the image is now fetching, but the metadata is fetching from somewhere else, because the title and synopsis is coming different from what is in myanimelist...

Maybe MovieDb or Tvdb?

ok, but if I put it to identify by myanimelist why doesn't it prioritize? this is the problem I'm reporting, when the plugin was just one, it was looking for the information normally, after the anime metadata was dismembered, there's this confusion...

Don't know scrapers but assume html change.  As it appear to be <p> not <span>.

        /// <summary>
        /// WebContent API call to get the description
        /// </summary>
        /// <param name="WebContent"></param>
        /// <returns></returns>
        public string Get_OverviewAsync(string WebContent)
        {
            return WebUtility.HtmlDecode(One_line_regex(new Regex("<span itemprop=\"description\">(?s)(.+?)</span>"), WebContent));
        }

But this is a community plugin for anyone that know what to do.  Devs try to maintain but can't to everything.

but I installed the plugin directly through emby in catalag, I didn't download it from github, do you think I should use it from github? or is it the same that is already in emby?

@HeroLeam The plugin is created from the code on github.  This plugin was not built by Emby dev originally that I know of, and Luke has done what he can to keep it compatible but has not modified original code that appears to be wrong or outdated.

But without community support to update or Emby Dev has time to look at, I see the plugin possibly just stopping to work.

Not sure if there is a lookup issue also.  Identify by Name provides no results either.

2022-09-28 17:39:31.861 Info HttpClient: GET https://myanimelist.net/search/all?q=Naruto Shippuden
2022-09-28 17:39:32.402 Debug App: MyAnimeListSeriesProvider returned no metadata for C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\Anime\Naruto Shippuden

Searching by name needs to be "Naruto Shippuuden"

Identified by providerid 1735.

@Luke changing span to p resolves Description issue.

MediaBrowser/Emby.Plugins.MyAnimeList (github.com)

            return WebUtility.HtmlDecode(One_line_regex(new Regex("<p itemprop=\"description\">(?s)(.+?)</p>"), WebContent));

image.thumb.png.efa336b9ab9355ae8c8d2243a8ba63ff.png

Still looking at Title as I have not gotten it to work.

This is bad, because I like other people who use emby and watch anime will feel frustrated by the fact that they don't have the necessary support, it would be the same as not continuing the imdb plugin, which is the biggest movie metadata.
