1971camaroguy 32 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Hey Everyone, Currently I have a docker container running emby on unraid and it works great But there are some emby features and plugins that work better (or only) on something like a windows machine. And I am more knowledgable with windows anyways. Is anyone running a set up like this, unraid for just mass storage and the media folders are mapped ( via smb share) to a remote windows machine running emby? Just curious if there are some streaming issues? I have nvdia shield's in my home theater and living room. Thanks again!
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Hi, I would think that could be fine. You could import the library into the windows server using network shares.
1971camaroguy 32 Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Thanks, I have been playing with this a bit on an old dell 990, I5, 16gb ram, 240gb SSD for windows 10, and a 1TB SSD for cach storage, backups, and pre-roll data Seems to be working ok and I was able to add some plugins that I wouldn't have been able to do on unraid...play a 4k movie and played just fine to my shield with no transcoding Copied my emby install to it,. just wating for all of the metadata to populate now (big librarry) 1
