NakorTBR 5 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Greetings, It seems the HDR playback on ios is not receiving the correct information for brightness. Playback on my iPad Pro (m1) seems like its SDR. Ive tried both MKV and MP4 containers, and both are direct playing (see attached). Is the bt2020 profile not supported? embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Hi, this might be improved in the beta if you'd like to try that:
NakorTBR 5 Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 Still performing the same with HDR on the testflight version. Its really hard to capture, but this pic is a good example. Its as if its only allowing a certain nit brightness. Is there a way to force switch between native and mpv player to test? Left is infuse, right is Emby (iOS v 2.2.6)
vdatanet 1617 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Yes, MPV player does tone mapping and the picture is really dark (reported a long time ago) Oranges and purples can use native player with full support for MKV 4K HEVC HDR streaming using HLS fMP4, but the green ones don't have it Edited September 21, 2022 by vdatanet
