Current State of TV Guide data in Australia - Not ideal.

The nice guys that were creating and managing the free xml guide data for Australia - xmltv.net have an issue with their services.  The services they were scraping have IP limiting and now the guide is not complete and will run out at the end of today.  

This means us 'poor folk' in Australia have to pay AUD$4 a month to IceTV to get the guide data if we wish to use the Emby recording.

As I am now no longer working, that is not possible for me.

I am going to have to remove the emby HDHR tuners and start up my tvheadend container again, then use the tvh plugin - all so I can get the rubbish over the air guide data.

Other premier users of emby get free guide data (USA, UK etc) - is there any possibility that emby can go a deal with IceTV and get us a better deal, if not free ?

Well - Giving up on the tvh plugin option - no series recordings, just one show at a time.

@arrbee99, I have added that xml file to my guide in emby - just a load of channel remapping to do as my channel numbers match those in NZ.

I will report back when I have done all that.

ahhhhhh - I was just going to put in that I found an emby bug as it matched my channels with the NZ ones, and their icons..... and the icons stick until you delete the image from the channel and rescan guide, or manually add an image.

So far, I am not too happy with this guide data - just TV shows, nothing with any repeat identification shown.

@seanbuff, I will remove all that work I just did and re-do it with just the Aus guide now - cheers.

No repeat flags in this xml data - it seems to be a scrape of the OTH EIT data - but at least I have the series recordings back.

A free guide is better than nothing, but as someone else said on here, we are getting a raw deal guide wise.

True, but I think I read Emby have to pay whoever they get their guide data from per user or similar...

News was not recording today - checked guide - nothing there.

The xmltv guys have theirs working again - but sporadically.

Matt did some migrations to a new URL yesterday so I also lost guide data and Live TV stopped working.

Re-loading has resolved it now though. 

You seem to just have had bad timing on this one, as that's never happened in the 4 years I've been using his feed. This is not the norm.

Thanks for that.  The xmltv one I was using is back working.  They also have the repeat flags which may come in handy.  Will are n with that a week or two and see how it updates.

I'm not exactly sure what his end game is, but that is the reason for the recent outage, he advised that some software like TVheadend needed to reload his feed to recognise the new changes.
