Can I "download images in advance" for items already in my library?

Trying to find solutions to why my videos have been buffering so much recently when I found out about this feature. Tried to remove items from library, scanning, and putting it back in and scanning again but doesn't work.

Hi, no you can't. You'd have to remove and readd them or refresh metadata and select the option to replace existing images.

Do you have the option enabled on each library? (Show Advances settings)

Then remove, full scan, readd.  Or Multi-select edited libraries and Refresh Search for missing w/replace images.

Just clarifying @nallcho14 when you say "videos buffering" - do you mean during playback, or just slow loading posters when scrolling your library?

Yes as if this is about scrolling/image cache then Database Cache Size and/or Vacuum may be a factor.

A complete scan needs to occur (and finish) to flush them out of the database.

Depends on what you call a normal scan, as Scan via Settings-Library or Scheduled task performs more operations than a Library Scan.

Ok, well if that's the case then this option to 'Download images in advance' will have no bearing on your playback performance. It only refers to how Emby fetches your coverart, backdrops, etc.

Follow the link in the 2nd post to report a problem with playback and supply the necessary information including logs, etc.

Well what are you defining as normal scan? There is only one kind of library scan.
