Lost Collections folder

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just did a complete wipe and reinstall of my NAS HD's and a clean install of Emby.

So far everything has gone smoothly but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get back my Collections folder that used to show on the mainpage and the movie page.

What am I missing as I'm sure it's very simple?

BTW:  Most of the collections were made automatically by EMBY not by me.

@King Pin That would suggest your media metadata does not have the info to create the Collections.

To test that theory, find two or more items that belong to a Collection and Refresh their metadata.

Or if you write nfo files with media check them for <set> node.

Also verify your Library setup option per library.

My library setup is correct according to your picture.

I refreshed Metadata for a couple movies in the same set and they started to appear in a collection but it seems I have to manually create the collections.

I also refreshed metadata for the whole movie folder but all as it shows is one collection.

I have no idea what this means.  ☺️

Not sure if it matters having TMDB as secondary provider.

If you write nfo files it must contain <set> in each movie metadata.

  <set tmdbcolid="635922">
    <name>47 Meters Down Collection</name>
  </set>

That point to missing metadata, but something must be going wrong if Refreshing the Library does not correct the issue.  May need to see the server log after a library refresh then.

Update:  Collections started forming after moving tmdb to the first position.

I still want to know how I can get that collections folder back on the main page.

edit:  @Happy2Playwe both were posting at the same time.  😆

If it is not showing in My Media check your User-Home Screen setting for that Library.

I don't see any option here.  Maybe it needs to finish gathering all the collections?

I guess you won't have it since your system technically has not made the library even though you have Collections tab in Movies library.

All that is left would be errors in your server log.

Do you mean until it's all done creating the Collections?

I'm also not getting any folder images.

Try refreshing the metadata on a collection and see if that helps.

Came to my computer this morning and opened Emby and was greeted with a nice surprise.

The collections folder is there on my homepage and images started to showup.

Looks like I just had to have a bit of patience.
