mike3821 67 Posted September 16, 2022 Author Posted September 16, 2022 Running a recording on channels dvr, I see interrupts due to the IP tv channel but it continues to record and finish. Under Emby if appears when something happens the recording just stops… Im not certain how to verify this, but did something happen into regards to retries if the stream drops out ?

mike3821 67 Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 (edited) So I’ve been forced to move to channels dvr because of the way Emby records. iPTV will sometimes glitch or loose the stream and it appears it won’t recover and the recording will just fail with no easy indication of why. channels is doing this much better. I can completely unplug my router while recording and wait up to 5 minutes and plug back in and channels will pick up and continue recording. It will also add information as “interupted” so you are a where of it had an issue. Anyways, Emby will just stop recording. So recording has become a big problem under Emby for our family. if there is in fact retries we need to get them increased. Edited October 9, 2022 by mike3821

I don’t know how to provide details. I had to move to Channels DVR because of an angry wife. Missing her Hallmark recordings. Unfortunately., she’s become really happy with Channels now.

mike3821 67 Posted October 25, 2022 Author Posted October 25, 2022 After testing for a month. I’m thinking it was the IPTV at fault. i had a ton of failed recordings with Channels too. I don’t want ti waste anyone’s time. Recording of antenna works fine. 1
