damien_c2 7 Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 (edited) Hello, i have an issue (i have find an workaround) when transcoding thread count is set to auto, in some case (i dont know which one perfectly) when the cpu usage it higher than 15% Emby dosent use enough thread and make all the playback buffering. Note: The cpu usage is not at 100% (only 15%-20%) Workaround: Set transcoding thread count to an value other than auto fix the issue. emby.zip Edited September 11, 2022 by damien_c2 Add file.
softworkz 5072 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 OK - we are not talking about video here. The first half of your logs are "directstream" which means that ffmpeg does nothing more than cutting the file into segments. The other half of your logs are "remux". These terms are confusing and inaccurate unfortunately: "directstream" is actually pure remuxing and "remux" is audio transcoding where video is only remuxed. Could you please post only two ffmpeg log files showing the same playback scenario - one with and another one without the threads param being configured? Thanks, sw

Just look into the logs folder - do playback - stop playback - then you should see exactly one ffmpeg log having been added. (you could also delete all ffmpeg logs before)

softworkz 5072 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Thanks for the log! It shows remuxing of the video and transcoding audio from AC3 to MP3. The ffmpeg processing runs at about 30x, which means that it is 30 times faster than watching in normal timing. What issue did you experience at the time when the log was recorded? Thanks, sw
