Running Tasks Question

Hi Everyone:

I've noticed twice now on my Emby Server that under Running Tasks it's doing a media library scan. " Scan Media Library ". It does this every once in a while even when I have not added or deleted any media on my server. Why does it do this? And is there any way to disable this from occurring?

Hi, by default it runs on a schedule every 12 or 24 hours.

There's a per-library setting, about 60% of the way down, that I think controls this:

Click on the Task in Scheduled task and you will see their triggers.

Go to scheduled tasks and click on the task (not the start button)

This will open the task to allow you to adjust the task triggers.

Hi.  The library scan performs necessary operations and should be run periodically.  Will you be running it manually?

Oh! I didn't know that ebr. I will turn it back on then. Thanks for letting me know. I just found it weird that my media was scanning when I had not added or deleted any media.
