HDhomerun and MCEbuddy settings?

Anyone out there use this combo? I have MCEbuddy setup from when I had an HDHR Prime, to do hardware transcoding. I figured I may go OTA down the road and I have a HDHR Quatro on the way.

Was curious if anyone that uses this set ( I am running Nvidia 1050ti) would share their MCEbuddy profile config, mine is super basic, basically I am converting the .TS files to HEVC MKVs, I would like top leave the resolution as is.

Not many using mcebuddy these days? How are most folks with DVR dealing with commercials?

You do this intentionally to not edit the videos, I thought I remember in the past Emby didn't handle .TS files as well as others. Maybe it was just a new m need to transcode for certain clients.

i have mce buddy and use it for any large batches, but for processing live tv as we watch comskipper works well so no need for anything else. either way i would never edit the video, just produce the edl file, as that way any mistakes in the ad detection can be worked around.

i actually have the recordings processed live as they are recorded. although i know you can do this with mcebuddy too

emby just converts the container. i know other people have more problems with .ts files

Thanks I'll have to give the plugin a try. I think I remember now that I may have went down the path of converting the files because something didn't play well with the interlaced files. I know I had a Shield back then but also was messing with Emby theater on an HTPC.

I am confused on this comskipper plugin, my server is an Nvidia shield pro, where is this plugin and how do I set it up? Thanks for any help.

You might want to take this up in the Plugins - ComSkipper thread for more details.

The first thing to clarify is that ComSkipper is a plugin that makes use of .edl files generated by comskip and does not generate the .edl files.  You will need to first install comskip on your Nvidia Shield and then setup a post recording process in EMBY to have comskip process your new recordings.  This will generate the .edl files for the ComSkipper plugin to use.

Not sure comskip would run on a shield.  Might need to run that on another box and move the edl file to the shield in order for the plugin to work.

And the reason I am still using plex, I really like Emby better but just cannot understand why they don’t put an easy solution for commercial skip.
