Better Music Image Searching?

Hey all, I have a library of around 26,000 songs. I would say maybe a quarter or more of the artists do not have an image attached in the Artists page. Not all of these artists are necessarily unknown, and Plex did not have this problem back when I was using it for music.

Of course I can go through and individually add them, but this is very time consuming. I am hoping to find a solution of either plugins for better metadata searching or something similar to automate this process?

Hey Luke, the "artists" page is specifically what I am talking about which must be linked with the metadata or identifying of artists. I haven't installed any further plugins to help with metadata searching, so I am wondering if there is something there or a setting that can be used to make the process of assigning images to artists less manual.

Not really as Emby will search MusicBrainz, TheAudioDB and FanArt.tv assuming you have them enabled on the library for Metadata and Images.

Now we would need an example of a provider site have an image and not getting it.  Testing the first two have no images on any of those sites.

I guess my question then would there be any chance of introducing what Plex uses for their metadata? Just to clarify, I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining about Emby, I bought the lifetime pass because it works flawlessly and I had problems with plex.

Check the providers 

Aimee Mann for instance has lots of available art.

If you refresh the metadata on one of these artists, does that help pull in an image?

Hey Luke, I tried this on a couple of artists and no luck unfortunately. I have all the sources checked in the settings as well, so it must just be that they do not have an extensive enough library for my artists. There are some artists in my library which I wouldn't exactly say are unknown though (example Anathema is a pretty well known band, but I had to assign images manually).

Not sure as I just added Anathema without any issues.  Got image from FanArt as that is my first image provider.

Here are my settings, don't worry about the custom provider as I have it disabled but is a plugin found on the forum.

I have Anathema's complete collection and I simply added the albums with the tags processed by Musicbrainz Picard and got all the artwork and information scraped by Emby, just like it does perfectly in my entire Music library, which I believe has 9000 tracks.
Not processing the tags using a program like Picard or similar can make the difference between Emby getting or not getting the data.

Note in my test I tested without MBZids.  But normally have MBZ tags.
