sorry for refloating the topic

i am currently having a very similar issue (i would say the same) with the newest emby version 4.7.6.0

could you please check the logs to see if it is the same problem?ffmpeg-transcode-810f31ff-60dc-4660-9b27-6063915081c7_1.txt in my case i have a N3050 cpu and it should be able to manage the transcoding without issues.

another extra point: in the transcoding window i saw that the audio are not transcoded to the selected audio bit rate. I selected 192KBPS and i see it at 320 (see attached picture)

thanks in advance

Hi,

I have done a more thorough fully research and it looks like the n3050 has h.265 he support but only for the 8bit encoding (no hdr support).

It explains why the transcoding was not working. So I think I can withdraw the request about the video problem.

In my own defence I can say that the Intel documentation is misleading in many ways.

Hi again,

sorry again for the refloat,

I did some test more in the last days and it looks like the regular H.265 8bit color HW decoder is failing and then emby is reverting to SW decoding, making the video unplayable.

i upload all the logs. in my unexperted opinion is a Ffmpeg problem but emby is not providing the info to the user and perhaps not taken into account this possibility.

woudl you mind to check it, just in case something can be done?

and my apologies for dropping the information bit a bit

regards

@thelittleblackb is it possible your video file has gone missing?

Hi,

I can confirm that the file is there and it is playable with an external player (vlc).

Any other way I could help?

Hi,

I got a bit fed up of the problems so i ended up ordering a nuc with an J4125 and with HW H.265 decode capabilities including the 10bits profile.

so i guess i dont have the problem anymore because i will move emby to this new nuc.

in any case thanks for asking

regards

Hi,

sorry for the absence, works keep me saturated for a long time.

The nuc works great and i didnt have any other problem with h265 except when i want to play subtitles with the PSD format. sometimes subtitles do not simply appear. Honestly it didnt bother me a lot because the srt one works like a champ but i consider something to be mentioned.

and before the PSD is taking a lot of CPU, yep, but this CPU is able to burn the subtitles in real time up to 2-3 streams in full HD, and to add more confusion, it does not happen always, only with some specific files.

so in average quite good with just a cheap nuc and emby, they work quite good together.
