Emby server not identifying 90% of tv-shows/seasons

I'm trying to transition from Plex to Emby and I have a huge problem with tv-shows not being recognized at all, or only one or a few seasons being recognized.

Running 4.6.7.0 on Ubuntu 22.04.

Movies work like a charm and 99% of the content gets identified and metadata added. (the files and directories are arranged in a fashion similar to the tv-shows)

But with tv-shows only about 5% of the shows get ID'd and grouped, and within those shows, some or most seasons stay unidentified.

I have all tv-show content in the same directory (/ftp/media/hd-serier/), with subdirectories for specific seasons of shows.

For example; why is the below directory detected properly as "Archer"?

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer 2009 S01 1080p Blu-ray x264 DTS-CtrlHD/

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer.2009.S11.1080p.HULU.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-NTb/

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer.2009.S12.REPACK.1080p.HULU.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-NTb/

While the below is not reconized at all:

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer S04 1080p Blu-ray DD5.1 x264-CtrlHD/

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer.S05.1080p.BluRay.AC3.x264-CtrlHD/

/ftp/media/hd-serier/Archer.2009.S10.1080p.AMZN.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-NTb

Some shows/episodes are located directly in the root of /ftp/media/hd-serier/  and are then named in a fashion like this: "Archer.2009.S07E01.The.Figgis.Agency.1080p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H.264-BS.mkv". None of these files are identified.

All these, and 99% of the other content are properly identified and organized by Plex, which also uses The TVDB, so I fail to see why Emby would have a problem using the same database.

Is there some type of setting I need to change? Or does it simply take a long time for Emby to do the initial scan and categorization (long as in several days) if you have a very large library?

It's not actively scanning right now, but I noticed that during the last hour of not scanning S11 and S12 had actually gone from not recognized to recognized properly, and S2 recognized as it's own series "Archer S02".
It's fine if this initial categorzation takes a few days, I'm in no hurry :) But it'd be nice to know if I could change anything.

Would giving the Emby VM more RAM/CPU help? Would it help to put it on SSD storage instead of HDD?

File and directory names, as well as placements, need to stay intact for other services attached to the data to work properly.

Hi.  For TV shows we require a "show" directory for each show.  It looks like you do not have that in your structure.

Ah, too bad if that's the case, as that ultimately makes the software unusable to me.

But, if it's a hard requirement, how come some shows/seasons are properly identified?

There are tools that can make quick work of creating show folders for you (e.g. filebot).

I can't be sure but, for TV, we definitely need a show folder at this time for reliable identification.

Allright, then I'll have to check in on the functionality at at later stage as the directory structure and file naming needs to stay the same for other services that use the data to work properly.

We do plan to be able to accommodate a mish-mash tv structure but we're not quite there yet.
