CharlieMurphy 92 Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 "System.IO.FileNotFoundException: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to find the specified file." The server is giving me this error when it tries to direct play, but then it transcodes to h264 just fine, so obviously the file is there. Any ideas?
CharlieMurphy 92 Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) In my Emby client, checking the box to "Allow Direct Play of TS Files" fixed it. For whatever reason the server is unable to change the container without transcoding the stream to h264 as well. Server version 4.7.6.0 Edited August 28, 2022 by CharlieMurphy
Luke 42077 Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 @CharlieMurphy Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
CharlieMurphy 92 Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 Will do as soon as I can get a clean test with nothing else streaming. Thanks, Luke. 1
CharlieMurphy 92 Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 Sending log via PM. 1: Played normally, server transcodes video. 2: Turned on "allow direct play of TS files," client direct plays with no issue. 3: Repeated step 1 I think, unchecked "allow direct play of TS files." Server transcoded to h264 again. 4: Disallowed transcoding for user while also not allowing "direct play of TS files" in the client. Server attempts to remux and gives the error mentioned in OP. Very sorry if it's something I did myself to cause this. The recording is 3.3GB but if a sample is desired I can take a smaller recording from the same stream.

Because the CCwGTV is unable to seek that stream in a large chunk and there's a lot of talking before the event starts. It will let me do small steps but I just tested to confirm it won't seek a larger chunk and it paused for maybe 40-60 seconds before seeking to where I put the slider, at that point it decided to transcode to h264 anyway. I leave this setting off now because direct play won't let me rewind live TS streams unless I accept the dialog to start a remux (I forgot the wording). Then I can rewind to that point but not to the time I was initially trying to see. 13 minutes ago, Luke said: Can you please attach the ffmpeg log as well? Thanks. Will do ASAP.
CharlieMurphy 92 Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 Resent the logs from the day of this post, but with the current server 4.7.8.0 and client version 2.0.80g this is playing a different recording from that same channel without transcoding video and without that error. It also seeks large chunks without switching to video transcoding as it was before. Seeking takes a very long time for large chunks but I think that's to be expected with a .ts file? This was possibly fixed between 4.7.6.0 and 4.7.8.0. 1
