Run executable or batch file upon Live TV channel launch

Apologies if this has been asked before but I could not find a thread here on the forum.

Could there be a way Emby could run an executable or batch file upon the tuning of a live TV channel?

Anyone with NextPVR might be familiar with that program’s functionality to do this, mainly so you could run a channel changer like IR blaster. I could go into the details of my set up, and why I am wanting this feature strictly with Emby, but just curious if it’s possible or ever been brought up before. I guess it’s kinda like the post processing file Emby can be run after a recording is finished, but I’m talking preprocessing upon tuning or recording start.  Thanks!

you can for the start of a recording (i do this for comskip in progress processing). i don't think there is an option for tuning for live tv though

To perform repetitive tasks, you can take advantage of batch files that use a ... However, you can launch SplitXRunBatch.vbs from the command line
