Mac666 2 Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Hi, After I update my Emby iOS app last week the plus button on “edit image” screen disappeared. Would it be possible to recover this?
Luke 42077 Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Hi, what version number do you have installed? Try tapping and holding on those tiles to see a menu for them.
Mac666 2 Posted August 24, 2022 Author Posted August 24, 2022 Hi Luke, the app version is 2.2.4 and my iOS version is 15.6.1 on iPhone SE. I have tried to press and hold the tile, it just only showed me “Add Image from URL” and not gave me an option to upload from my image stored in iPhone.
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 OK we'll take a look at it. Workaround in the meantime is to use the web app. Thanks,.
Luke 42077 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 HI, Emby for iOS 2.2.6 has been released. Please try it out and let us know how it compares. Thanks !
Mac666 2 Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Hi Sorry for late reply. I installed 2.2.7 but the problem still remains. I’m not iOS developer but I’m guessing the cause of this has something to do with access permissions for Photo app from Emby client app. My observation is that, other iOS app that requires access to Photo app (such as Slack in my case), has clearly access control if I can grant the specific app access to Photo app. Emby app, at least in my iPhonec has no toggle button to grant to touch my Photo. Does it indicate there’s missing permissions control on Emby app?

Mac666 2 Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Yes, if you look at Settings -> Emby There’s no Photo app in the list. As an example for working case, Slack has Photo app to grant Slack access Photo app.
Luke 42077 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 That's not going to impact whether or not the button shows up in the app. Where are you looking for it in the app?

Choose video and long press on the item. 2. Edit Image 3. Long press “Primary” and it shows no option to choose from local Photo app. Just shows only external URL.
Luke 42077 Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Well that's strange. I would try again with the next update to the app. Thanks.

Mac666 2 Posted April 17, 2024 Author Posted April 17, 2024 @Luke Hi Luke, My apologize for waking kind a old post. Luke 42077 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 It's because fileupload isn't implemented in the native app yet. We can look at that, but for now you'll need to do it in the web app. Thanks.
