Emby won't reopen on Google TV

I have a TCL tv running Google TV. I know that Emby doesn't like when you just push the home button without closing the app. When I do this on my shield I'm often greeted with a black screen next time I open Emby. But the shield has the recent apps option to kill emby and then it will open properly.

My TCL tv doesn't have that option besides going into the settings and killing Emby. Sometimes when I just hit home inside Emby I can't reopen the app, the black screen is there like reported above. Anything I should be doing here besides exiting Emby with the back button?

Hi, can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and let us know how that compares?

Thanks !

Is the TV app no longer being developed? I keep seeing this answer given in posts. Just curious.

Hi.  We're working on having a single app so it is helpful to know if your issue is also in the standard version.

Thanks.

Sorry this is sort of a hit and miss thing on a TV I rarely use. I did sideload the app and messed with it a bit and didn't hang the issue.

One thing I noticed is that I am only getting pcm the earc. I don't see any audio settings on the app for passthrough like I do in the TV app. DD is being passed from Amazon prime so earc is working on that app. (But I know it can be flakey)

Should I expect lossy bitstream audio from this app at this point? This is on a TCL 4 series with Google TV if that matters.

@lightsout What is the  original audio?  The app  will automatically pass-through so there is no need to enable anything. What it won't currently do though is convert audio to some other format.

It's not passing through DD or DTS. It might be an earc issue.
