clarkss12 304 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Just purchased a 43inch smart TV for the bedroom. It does NOT natively support the VC-1 video codec. I installed the Emby app, but it has to transcode that VC-1 codec. I purchased this TV from Bestbuy, wanted the cheapest 4k TV that I could find. Should I return it and pay a little more?? Do most of the smaller smart TVs support that VC-1 codec?? Insignia™ - 43" Class F30 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV
Luke 42078 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 HI, if you install our standard android app on the same device, it will try to decode the vc1 in software. Whether or not the device can decode it quickly enough in software is another matter, but you could give that a try.

clarkss12 304 Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 Unfortunately, this TV operating system, blocks any attempts to side load any apps. 1
