Some metadata missing.

Gentoo Linux 2.8. and Emby Premiere.

I'm not sure it started with v 4.76, but for some Tv Shows missing metadata. I had it before, but something went wrong.

All files  are on local hdd. Also all files and folders have read/write permissions.

When I exec "Search for missing metadata" or "Replace all metadata" it do nothing. I need to Identify all show to get all episodes showing correctly.  In scheduled tasks ran "Scan metadata Folder", not helping. Metadata I saving tv shows folders.

Attached server log, but I don't think it will help as not sure in which moment that happened. maybe need to reinstall some one plugin?

If need more info, just let me know, please.

Hi @Normanos are you still running into this? Have you updated to Emby Server 4.7.8?

Posted

Hi Luke. Yes I updated to 4.7.8. For some reason its still struggle with metadata. I just 2 days ago had one TV show, which have proper structure.  Identified show, but episodes wath So1e01.... . In all day happened nothing. I tried refresh metadata for show, Identify.  deleted all nfo files. At the end somehow managed to get them.

Nfo Metadata performance is gone down or, I don;t know.

@Normanos can we please look at an example of one you had an issue with more recently? Thanks !

I don't know where to find log files You need.

I will try to explain. Some times its showing s01e01. When trying "Search for missing metadata", nothing changes. When "Refresh all metadata", it's usually creating episode name.

You need to break it down with specific examples but looking at your log I will guess structure and naming.

/servers/SSD1/seriaali/2021/Hawkeye.s01.WEDLRip(HEVC)1080p.xz/Hawkeye.S01E02.WEB-DL(HEVC)1080p.2x[MVO](HDRezka Studio,Jaskier), [Ukr MVO] (DniproFilm).xz.mkv

This has no Series folder so there is a lot of guess work on what this is.  I see a Year folder with a Season folder with an Episode.

Emby TV Naming :

this was just one example. Even when I have proper structure its failing. It struggle even when, like Folder; The Blacklist, folders s01, s02, s03... and episodes are s01e01.mkv s01e02.mkv

For me, I think its decided its found correct title and not searching for proper one. Sometimes I have episode title: "TBA"

Would need specific examples as this common for TVDB and could take 24 hours for api to update and you now you have to manually Refresh data.

24 hours is ok, but not weeks. I found single episode in season which not detected. its not finding randomly.

When I will get again, will post log file again.

Looks  I can't edit posts.

 Can search by keyword: .S10E03.A.Good.Man.

In the options for the library, what series and episode metadata providers are enabled, and in what order? Can you please show a screenshot of that? Thanks.

@Luke Default is TVDB

P.s. In settings its have this: "Metadata provided by TheTVDB. Please consider supporting TheTVDB by adding missing information or subscribing."

But TVDB Plgin don't have any configuration options.

OK, as a test, please try removing the media info plugin. Then restart the server and try refreshing the metadata again on that title. Please see how that compares. Thanks.

Valid point, TVDB are promoting subscriptions now, we really need somewhere to enter our subscriber PIN.

At the moment don't have much new tv shows. But instead of remove mediainfo plugin, i disabled "AutoRun on new Media Added" in Mediainfo plugin. So far working fine.

Mediainfo plugin i put in Scheduled tasks only. So probably mediainfo plugin started to work to early, when added episode.

Have over 100 Tv shows to go thru again them all then. And for some reason mediainfo plugin "touching" video files which affects rsync to backup drives (copying all that files again)

Will update, when again something will be wrong.

Today I got again single file. Its creating nfo file with title: TBA. mediainfo is disabled when new media added. I deleted nfo file, refreshed metadata. Again coming up with TBA.

Interesting, what it means?

Search for this, please:Star.Wars.Andor.S01E07.Announcement.1080p.DSNP.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-NTb

In same time, other tv show added without any problems.

Maybe nfo plugin gets confused in file name or ...?

Since I don't see metadata update for the Series, I will guess you still have cached metadata from provider that still contains TBA as it was only updated sometime on 10/19/2022.

So you have to delete the cache TVDB id folder for this Series or Potentially Refresh the entire Series.

Where is TVDB id cache folder?

And very stupid question, what means TBA ?

To Be Advised.

I have been seeing a lot of that myself lately, to the point where I setup TinyMediaManager to check all my NFO's. All fixed now.

Tvdb sends back TBA as the title when it doesn't have that data yet.

Just a quck reminder. I started this post more as information So dvelopers can analyze situation and improve Emby server.
