CXY 0 Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 (edited) I've searched the knowledge base and looked at other posts, but I can't find the details of what this option does. Detailed questions: 1. Does this option need to be checked?(Don't care about the scan time and cpu pressure,I need emby enter the emby client to load more smoothly after the scan is completed.) 2. When a remote connection is made, is the data downloaded by this function stored on the server or the client or Media file library? Edited August 12, 2022 by CXY

After I dismounted my media library containing my media artworks and nfo files, the movie posters aren't loaded and they are all broken. But it reads the nfo information just fine. Is this how it's supposed to work? Or is it a bug? Edited March 2, 2023 by WayneNotBruce

They would, but wouldn't be cached. Meaning when requested, they couldn't be reached. Do not disconnect your mount, Emby is not designed to work in that way.

First, if you read the help text at the top, changing options such as this only applies to newly imported content going forward. It contains instructions on how to apply it to existing content. Second, with your media dismounted, it may still go looking in the original media folder for the image from time to time, and this could be a problem. Some users have been asking for a feature to keep internal copies of all your images to better account for this, and that's something we may look at in future updates.
