But nope... it puts the wrong information in the external fields every single time.

Trying to add the movie 18 1/2 but Emby insists on changing it to Apollo 10 1/2.

Not sure how to fix this issue.  Every time I tell Emby what the IMDB or the TMDB number is, it pretends that it found the right movie but then it reverts back to thinking it's Apollo 10 1/2.

I even tried manually editing the movie metadata and removing all previous entries and starting from blank but every time it it labels it as the wrong movie.  Tried removing it from the directory and re-adding it but that doesn't work either.

Other than manually updating every single field by hand, how do I get emby to auto populate this from the IMDB or TMDB listing?

Thanks.

Can you post the server log showing this action.

Is there an nfo file with media?

Note this worked fine for me in my test.  Adding "18½ (2022)" was identified properly.

So only thing I can think of would-be locked metadata of metadata with media the cannot be overwritten.  But server log may show more.

To solve this problem, it is best to search manually on IMDB or TMDB (Note: The identifier only connects to TMDB and is not always accurate).

After searching for movie titles on the respective sites:

On IMDB: look at the URL bar and copy the number between the 2 slashes starting with tt (example: tt10298810) DO NOT COPY THE SLASHES!!
Example IMDB url:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10298810/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

On TMDB: look at the URL bar and copy the number from the URL bar.
Example TMDB url:
https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/718789-lightyear

Yes, there is an NFO file, attached.  I did try to delete but it just gets recreated incorrectly.

Here is the log from the attempt to identify the movie, I manually entered the IMDB id tt7325622 and this is what Emby did:

I assure you, I did use the IMDB id from the URL in the IMDB url, as I looked up the movie myself on IMDB.

@blackcatTN Still looking at this but looks like a TVDB api issue as you have them a first provider.

Not sure I understand, I pasted tt7325622 in the IMDB field ^^^^

Why would it search TVDB and not search IMDB?

@blackcatTN We get nothing for IMDB as they want $150,000 a year.  The id is used as a query on our metadata provider sites TVDB, TMDB, OMDB and possibly Anime sites if you have those plugins.  That is why there is an order of precedence per library setup.

Do you get the same results if make TMDB a higher priority than TVDB on library setup?

But as I suspected this is a TVDB query issue.  Think this is a first for this or at least reported.  As it doesn't look like it even exists on TVDB.

Thanks for the info about IMDB, did not know that.

Little confused as the log clearly shows it has the correct ids.

2022-08-10 16:27:27.438 Info App: Setting provider id's to item 580794-18½: {"Tmdb":"796102","Imdb":"tt7325622"}

But your query above is wrong as it should be "796102" not "796102-18" as that includes title.

I took the id from the URL on their page.  https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/796102-18

I just tried it with just 796102, same result.

Url is actually the SLUG id+title even though is is cut off.

this demonstrates better ID and Title.

https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/507086-jurassic-world-dominion

But I have zero issues with this title but since you have nfo can only guess it is not being overwritten properly if identify is not overwriting it.

All I can suggest if removing the media from you library, doing library scan, ensure no nfo file resided with media and readd the item to your library and do library scan again.

Already tried deleting it and re-adding it.   Will just edit it manually for now.

Thank you all for reviewing.

Not sure as it straight up identifies for me.  TMDB, TVDB, then OMDB.

image.thumb.png.a68c88f19837209569ee38e8b274c4ad.png

@blackcatTN Image order of precedence applies here also but see the overall issue.

@Luke in the end we still have a provider mismatch as already shown. (order of precedence dependent as above show incorrect IMDB also)

image.thumb.png.235ed8d22c9cd481b2432fcfad367329.png

Now this one incorrect providerid could provide wrong metadata and or images.

We have discussed this in other topics for the ability to lock or blank out providerids.

But in the end right now one would have to clear TVDB id and lock the item.  But for completeness I would disable TVDB, ensure Item had no TVDB id, Refresh w/replace images then lock metadata and reenable TVDB on library.

Hi, that's not true. it connects to your highest priority  metadata fetcher.

So if there is a provider mismatch for any item you can/will get odd results, so

1. you have to decide where you want metadata from or what provider has your metadata.

2. disable all providers that do not have correct metadata.

3. Ensure your item has not nfo file or you have manually cleared the externalid files.

4. Refresh w/replace images or ReIdentify the item.

5. Once refreshed with correct metadata, Lock and Save metadata.

6. Enable the disabled providers.
