LG Smart TV Emby App will not display photos

Hi

I have Emby Premiere 

Emby Premiere Server reports version 4 .7.6.0  "You have a Lifetime Emby Premiere plan and your device usage is well within your limit."
on Asustor 5004T ADM version 4.0.5.RVI1

LG Emby version 1.0.35  [Emby Device LG Smart TV (49UF770T-TA)]  on Web OS version 04.06.25 on LG smart TV

The Emby app on LG TV will not display photos.   Music and videos play fine.  

Smartshare on the LG TV displays photos and music fine from DLNA on the Emby server

If i use the web browser on the smart TV it displays photos fine when connected to the server.

Any ideas on a fix for the app on the TV

Hi, what exactly happens when you try to play photos?

Hi Luke  - The thumbnails show correctly, but when I click on one to view it I just get the red oval followed  by a blank black screen.  See the sequence of screen snaps below from the LG TV.

 I get the same result regardless of which thumbnail I click on,  and If I wait the blank screen does not change (even after 15 minutes),  clicking on the back or forward arrow does not alter the blank screen response.

I have also attached the server log in case you need it.  The photos in the library are  .jpg 3 to 4 mb in size.

I have already tried 

             1.  Removing and Recreating libraries on the server

             2. Removing and reinstalling the emby client on the LG TV

what happens if you press the right cursor key on the remote control?

This also happens on the standard Android App (general release one) until you do that.......

when you click a picture to view. Black screen then press right > on remote....

With the emby LG app and the black screen display for a photo - pressing the right > on the remote moves the oval highlight to highlight  the >|  at the bottom of the screen

Pressing the < arrow on the remote moves the oval highlight to highlight light the |<  at the bottom of the screen

Pressing the ^ (up) arrow on the remote elongates the oval horizontally

No key press on the remote alters the black screen to show a photo.

When using the LG TV Web Browser to access to emby photos, they display correctly, and the arrows move back and forth between the photos.

No fix for the LG App and photo display.

Sorry Luke, I meant to do this and got de-railed.

I just checked and although I remember this bug a few versions ago (whether client or server) I don't have this issue on my LG television. SOme folders had photos and videos, and some just photos. I am using the new "Photos & Videos" as the library type as you deprecated the original separate library for Photos and Videos. My files are not a huge size typically something up to 1920 x 1080.

I only have the issue on the Fire Stick 4K Max of black screen, where I press the right button to show it.

So on my LG  TV, I can't seem to replicate??

Hi Luke

Thanks for the update and apologies for the delay in responding (Summer holidays down under).

With LG app 1.0.37 there is not much improvement.   Now when I click on the first thumbnail in a folder of photos (from my local NAS}  the photo displays,  however,  clicking the next or previous button just gets the black screen.  if I try to "play all" as a slide show;  the first photo displays but when the next one should show it just displays the black screen.  Clicking om any thumbnail other than the first just gets a black screen.   Limited improvement I can now see the first photo of the slide show but no others?

Videos and music still play fine.
