Was buffer setting removed from Android app?

My previous emby app had a buffer setting that I could set from to small medium or large. This option seems to be gone now. If that's accurate, what does it default to now? Before I could resolve buffering issues by setting this to large.

Yes it was removed, no explanation why it was removed.

Yes, it was removed because it caused more problems than it solved.  Setting it to large on most devices could cause a crash of the app playing very high bitrate content.

Is it possible to get it back? I have several 4k Firesticks and I can Fast forward once or twice and then I get a black screen or a long pause where I can hear audio but video isn't moving. Then when it starts to play properly again, it is no longer DirectPlay it's transcoding do to an error. I never had any issues with the buffer options before. I could literally FF through a 100GB movie and it would tear right through it, playing instantly wherever I stopped and never going from DirectPlay to transcoding. My network is a Wifi6 ax and I'm getting well over 5 Gbps on the WIFI

@LqHnyBear

Hi.  Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Only because you asked nicely... lol Yes Luke, I'd be happy to check it out. I'll do it in a few hours when off work.

Tried it on all three Firestick 4k and 1 Firestick 4k Max. The arm7 version works flawlessly.

Not in the version I’m testing. I don’t think any of them do anymore.

Regarding this problem, I think the latest version of Emby Android TV app also solve this problem judging by my parents' experience

Hi.  Yes, the latest beta of the TV app should also solve this issue for you.

Is it out and available on Amazon already? How can I check if I have it?
