Hi Emby team,

I have a similar problem with Nvidia Shield and Emby android TV app.

The error is:

Impossible to convert between the formats supported by the filter 'hwupload@f4' and the filter 'auto_scale_0'

I tested Emby versions:

  • previous release (no problem) -> I don't have log to attach
  • 4.7.8 (attached files ending with __478)
  • 4.7.9 (attached files ending with __479)

Same problem on both releases. I cannot test the beta release but I hope it will fix this problem.

Hi, yes this should be resolved in the upcoming 4.8 server release.

Well upon the discovery of the vulnerability, I decided to spin up a Beta instance of Emby, version 4.8.0.37. I tried transcoding a movie and HW transcoding failed. It only works with 1 subtitles, out of 4. When selecting the other ones, it crashes, even when selecting no subtitles.

I tried a different movie and for this one, all subtitles made playback crash, except when selecting no subtitles.

Here are some logs of the crashed playback and working playback of the same file, on the same Emby server version.

I tested 2 movies on 4.8.0.46 and they both seem to work. Thank you so much!
