Wrong Season/episode numbers

My files contain both the resolution and the season/episode number(duh), for some reason it thinks the resolution is the season/episode numbering, resulting in thinking the episodes are S1280E720, which, obviously, is incorrect.

A file name for example:

[Coalgirls]_KissxSis_S01E01_(1280x720_Blu-Ray_FLAC)_[CD040216].mkv

Perhaps a solution would be to prioritize S**E** over **x** notation?

Why bother with all that info in your files? Not sure how you expect the metadata fetcher to make heads or tails of that.

Keep it simple:

Sons of Anarchy.S07E01.Black Widower

Or at the very least try naming: Show.SeasonEpisode.EpName.whatever other stuff you want to include

and see if that works for you.

his naming should be ok. it will have to be looked at for a future release.

Yeah i Thought so too, any ETA on this though?

Even though we hope to support this in the future the square brackets will make it work now.

I actually had the same issue yesterday even with square brackets, which never used to happen.

As an example, with the episode named "Monster - s01e01v3 [Fig] [DVD, 712x478, AC3].mkv", MBS identified it as Season 1, Episode 478. I'm guessing it only got the season correct because it was in the "Season 1" folder.

Almost all 74 episodes were similarly misidentified, except the handful that happened to get IDed as 480p by my renamer, which were recognized correctly. These were named like "Monster - s01e08v2 [Fig] [DVD, 480p, AC3].mkv".

The only solution I came up with was to manually rename them all so they ended with "[DVD, 480p, AC3]": once the 'x' was gone, it started recognizing the 'sXXeXX' part of the filename.

Some sort of weird naming recognition priority issue, or is the content of square brackets just somehow no longer ignored?

i haven't seen any other tools use a naming convention priority, so i don't think we're going to do that. i think this is just an issue that needs to be solved.

The reason for all the extra info is that it hasn't been renamed, that's the fansub-group's naming convention. A lot of anime-collectors don't like using auto-renaming tools because it strips out the group's name, which makes it more difficult to identify which release you have. Since different group's translations vary wildly in quality and level of localization, it can be important.

AniDB does offer a renaming applet that supports group-names, it can just be a little intimating to use.

I have opened a request on the Git of Japanese Media Manager (JMM erver) to support MB3 in some form. Which could be the solution for people with anime. Right now i use it for my anime since it has built-in support for scripting and much much more cool features.
