I just looked at the recurring I set up a few days ago for the keyword "today" and there are no new recordings added. Today is an extremely common word that should have episodes added every day.
gillmacca01 211 Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I guess the best way to test it, is to use a news programme. It's unlikely that wouldn't be on every day 1
MBSki 1114 Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 @Luke This feature seems to have gotten worse. I just created a one-time recording, but it's acting like a recurring recording. See screenshots below. Also, I still don't see a way to edit a recurring recording. Has that been added?
Luke 42078 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 That's normal and how wmc worked. It schedules all matches in the guide at the time of setting it up. There just won't be any new matches after that if you only select once.

Have you added it?
Luke 42078 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Yes it is added but you didn't schedule it as recurring, so you can only edit the individual ones.

Where do I go to edit the recurring? I assumed it would show up in Series, but it's not there. Edit: I see it now. I don't know why it didn't show up the first time, but it's there now. Basically, you are asking the system to schedule anything with "Burger" in the title right now. If you really only want to schedule one particular item, then you should probably just search programs for "Burger" and then schedule the one you want.

Yes, I get it now, but I'm saying that it seems strange that "once" would create 10 scheduled recordings. 1 does not = 10 so it seems weird. I understand now though. No biggy.

The "once" refers to the run of the query as opposed to schedule of recording. Basically, you would use this method if you knew that some channel was showing a bunch of games for your favorite team or something but not as an actual series and you want to try and catch them all. If you are just looking for one specific program, then you'd just use search.

I believe they had a prompt with options before actually scheduling the recordings. So Emby has a prompt, but maybe there is an option missing. Maybe add something like Schedule x number of recordings. I wish I had my TiVo hooked up so I could take a look at it. I'm not even sure I understand the use case for a keyword search to schedule everything with that keyword for a 2 week period. Maybe just something like the Olympics? It seems the same as the regular search. I think some options are missing, but without seeing other examples I'm just having trouble figuring out what might need to be added.

I agree, there is a lot of crossover functionality there but the Olympics are a good example of when you might want it. Given that, the default should probably be for it to be a recurring search. 1
Luke 42078 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 The 4.8 release will have the WMC-like preview I've been wanting to add, so that when you setup the recording you can get an idea of what items will match your keyword: 3
