berndvos 0 Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 (edited) Hi, I just installed my emby-server on a linux server running the latest debian. I mounted my NFS share with media from my synology to /mnt/media. On that share I have 1 folder containing all my series and 1 folder containing all my movies. I have it al set up and permissions are correctly set on the entire share, all have read and write permissions on all folders and files. The strange thing is that emby is scanning the tv-shows correctley but is not showing any of my movies. File and folder permissions are the same on both the tv-shows folders and the movies folders. On my previous setup, where I had the emby server running on my windows workstation it worked all well, only difference is that I had that folder shared over SMB instead of NFS. But how is it possible that on the same NFS share it scans 1 folder correctly and 1 folder not at all. What am I overlooking? Edited July 21, 2022 by berndvos
berndvos 0 Posted July 21, 2022 Author Posted July 21, 2022 (edited) I think I might have just found the cause. It looks like I have a folder inside the Movie folder wich contains a forbidden character in it's name. That folder didn't show up on my SMB share in Windows, but according to the error log, it's a non existing folder, wich is still visible, both on the NFS share and when I look inside my synology File Station. Strange thing is I cannot delete that folder. =========================== *** Error Report *** Version: 4.7.5.0 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Linux version 5.10.0-16-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc-10 (Debian 10.2.1-6) 10.2.1 20210110, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.35.2) #1 Framework: .NET 6.0.2 OS/Process: x64/x64 Runtime: opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 2 Data path: /var/lib/emby Application path: /opt/emby-server/system System.IO.FileNotFoundException: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file '/mnt/media/Films/One Hundred and One Dalmatians (101 Dalmatirs) (1961) NL GesprokenSubs'. Solution berndvos 0 Posted July 21, 2022 Author Solution Posted July 21, 2022 problem is solved. I couldn't delete the folder through the webinterface of my synology, because of the characters in it's name, I had to delete the folder manually by SSH into my synology, then rescan my folder in Emby and it all worked.
