Subtitles not working -

I am unable to get subtitles to work properly it seems to be hit or miss which makes no sense.  The error i see is below it seems to keep some personal info in the ffmpeg log file same with emby server even with anonymizer on so I've removed a few lines.

if I turn off subtitle for the movie file it works just fine. These subtitles are embedded in the MKV file as well...

what makes no sense is there is plenty of memory  + 1TB space setup so should be no complaints even if using tmp or disk space... one thing i noticed was the "download subs" doesn't find any results so it would make sense not to find the SRT.

I've triple checker permissions and emby has all the access it should need...

 

To add to this I've now tried to turn off subtitles so they are no longer defaulted on "forced" and are just disabled at first.  even after clearing "saved tracks" it's still defaulting to turning on subtitles.

Burning-in graphical subs is very CPU-expensive process that can tax even modern CPUs, your best bet would be to obtain text-based ones (.srt) or reencode that item and get rid of unnecessary subs. 

Furthermore, it is a known issue that excessive number of embedded subs might create playback issues, as your log shows a lot of them (btw you shouldn't delete lines from logs as you did, for example, removed 'Transcode reason' line, if you have privacy concerns you can PM them to the Devs though I don't see why that would be necessary as with anonymizer all external references (if any) are removed and only local data available which is basically useless to an outsider and are very useful for troubleshooting purposes).

all external references were not removed with anonymizer client IP and server external URL were both included in the log in various spots, more so in the emby server not not so much the FFMPEG file.

Than that is something for the Dev to take a look at as they should've been. @Luke

Thanks. so from all my research it seems to be related to PGSubtitles... embeeded, is there an easy way to remove or even just disable them? I don't want to re-encode them and  it's still enabling forced subtitles even if i have subtitles setting to off rather than leaving the value set to off for each video.  (I am switching from Plex which has shit live tv support) and am fumbling thru this.

Even after upgrading seems to be an issue I noticed new items added via scan seem to still be trying to turn on subs even though server settings say off.  The manual change on the movies home page once you change it to no sub seems to save for that video.
