crusher11 1101 Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 It doesn't list IMDB ID or the like either. If I Identify a recording, it then lists cast, chapters, etc. But it overwrites the parental rating. And I really shouldn't have to manually identify everything I record, that's silly.
Spaceboy 2573 Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 but a huge amount of stuff that is on tv networks is not on imdb or the like and any attempt to auto identify would result in wrong metadata. use of the tv network metadata from the epg is the least worst option

Early on, we tried to auto identify recordings and ended up with so many mis-identifications that it simply isn't worth it.
crusher11 1101 Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) The only things I record are movies, which are all on TMBD, so that doesn't apply in my case. I guess things would be different for random TV shows. But it would be nice to have an actual cast list and the like, while retaining the parental rating (although parental ratings are in the format of "G", "PG" etc instead of "AU-G", "AU-PG" as they are in the rest of Emby). Not getting chapters doesn't make any sense, though. There's also no ability to seek on the play bar on the ATV app. Is there a way I can set it up to lock the parental rating and attempt identification on my recordings? EDIT: And in fact, every single movie I've recorded has a TMDB ID listed in its metadata. If it can do that, why can't it get the rest of the info via that ID? Edited July 16, 2022 by crusher11 1

pwhodges 2012 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Where are you expecting chapters to come from? Paul
crusher11 1101 Posted July 18, 2022 Author Posted July 18, 2022 Emby autogenerates chapters every five minutes in files that do not otherwise have them. Since I start recording five minutes before show start, starting from chapter two would be a simple way to go (or chapter three on the movie that got delayed for the end of Wimbledon). But the chapters aren't available until I identify the item. Makes it harder to skip around.
crusher11 1101 Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 I still don't see why a recording would get a TMDB ID but not be identified, nor do I see why chapters can't be made visible. 1
crusher11 1101 Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 I also don't see why this thread keeps being ignored.
Luke 42078 Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Hi, try refreshing the metadata on an existing one. Then let's see if it happens after that with a new recording. Thanks.
crusher11 1101 Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 Refreshing metadata does work, but surely it shouldn't require that step?
Luke 42078 Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Quote Then let's see if it happens after that with a new recording. Thanks. If it does, then let's look at a specific example: Thanks.
