Emby does not remember audio/subtitle settings

Version 2.0.77g on Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019

There is a very annoying problem with the subtitle and soundtrack selection in the app. I select an audio track and subtitles that are different from the default tracks. During playback, I pause the video and let the app go to the screensaver. Upon waking, the app only remembers the running time to resume. The audio and subtitle track settings are back to the default tracks. There is a similar problem with TV shows. I select audio and subtitles in an episode and when I start the next episode the tracks are set to default, even though the whole show has the same languages, codecs and even order of audio/subtitle tracks.

Hi, I do have an Android TV and am experiencing the same issues.

I have screensaver enabled. Now I select my audio and subtitle tracks and start watching a movie or series episode. When I pause the playback, the screensaver will start after a short while. After resume from the screensaver I will be back on the movie or episode screen and I can literally watch the audio and subtitle tracks resetting from my chosen values back to my default settings.

I have enabled the option to keep the last played audio and subtitle tracks.

It manages to keep the selected tracks even between episodes of a series. But it seems to be buggy, if the playback is interrupted by the screensaver.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

I installed Emby for Android and it does not have the issue as it will not go back to the movie/episode page, but remain in the player after resuming from the screensaver.

As for the moment I am ok with that, as the app seems to work fine on Android TV.

But it would be nice for a future version if this could be addressed
