Tv shows not showing after adding library folder

after adding a tv show folder it doesn't show up or nothing is it a certain name the folder supposed to be or the filename supposed to be?
with plex though no issues at all clearly with emby it is a certain way you have to name the folder or filename to have the tv shows metadata show up
but i don't know how wish it was a tutorial

Here is how i got the folder and file named let me know how i should change the folder name or file name to make emby recognize the metadata it is a hevc mp4 format btw.

Sorry but need to know what path was used when you created the library?

Do you have more then one library with that path?

Ideally the root of any drive should not be uses as it will contain hidden system folders that Emby still sees and could/would cause issues.

It is just one library and like mention earlier plex recognize it right away with no issues at all so i'm guessing either emby not very good at updating tv shows metadata automatically or i'm not doing something right movies metadata no problem at all though mixed content did the trick though only thing be different is the tv shows be listed as a movie title instead of a tv show title

I really don't like comparisons as I feel Emby outperforms Plex across the board.  But Emby does have more requirements than the other guys.

Please provide the requested information.

Can only guess with the info provide Emby thinks that is Walker Texas Ranger the movie not the series.  Mixed Content will/can be problematic with series with no season folder.

I agree that's why i like emby better than plex and jellyfin as well cause jellyfin is more complicated where as emby is more user friendly
just wish emby made adding tv shows a lil more simple!

that naming that you have should work fine though. What folder path did you add to the library?

What i meant by mixed content did the trick but only problem it is in movies category but that shouldn't be no biggie?

To let emby know it a tv, simply add sub folder as "season", as example:

d:\tv name\Season 1\tv name s01e01 ... etc.

I see what i did wrong now lol i didn't have a subfolder inside the original folder only had the show file thanks so much

HI.  Don't point the library to your individual TV shows.  Instead, create a parent folder on that drive ("Shows", perphaps) and then point the library to that one folder and it will pick up all your TV shows.

e.g.  D:\Shows - would be where you point your library and then you would have:

D:\Shows\Walker Texas Ranger
D:\Shows\Stranger Things
...

I need to add something here, it best to organize and separated you folders collection (tv, movies, cartoon .. etc)

As your example above you using external drive as D:\

Ok, do a main folder, let assume you only have tv series and movies, so do main 2 folders un drive d:

As example for tv do "mytv" and movies do "mymovies" (it any name you like, just as put as example)

Now move all your tv to "mytv" and all your movies to "mymovies" folders.

When you add a library to emby point to top folder, example:

For tv, point "D:\mytv"

For movies, point "D:\mymovies"

As a reminder again, any tv series you add should as I explain in my last post.
