Mimpster 1 Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 I've read through numerous posts about sorting movie files but can't seem to find specific answers. 1) On my Admin account, if I sort a folder a certain way like by "release date", it does not change it on other user accounts I have created. I have to go into each account and make the same changes. Is there a simpler way to do this? 2) If I'm logged into Emby on my laptop and make sorting adjustments in a folder, when I turn on my TV and open the Emby app, the sorting still has default settings. How can I make changes on one device and have it be the same across multiple devices? 3) After I have everything sorted the way I want, is there a way to save those settings? I recently added a hard drive to my NAS and formatted everything to make a "single disk". After reloading the movies and Emby app, I'm now having to start over with sorting folders and modifying the sort title field for some movies. Any help is much appreciated. I really love this app. Thanks!

Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Sorry those are all per user, per client options. 1
Mimpster 1 Posted July 13, 2022 Author Posted July 13, 2022 (edited) I can understand the per user part. It would be nice if we at least had an option to import settings to another user though. As for user settings per client options, if I use sort title to sort a movie as The Sandlot instead of just Sandlot, that change occurs across every user and every device. I don't see why sorting a folder by Release Date instead of Title can't occur across every device too. Thanks for the response. Edited July 13, 2022 by Mimpster Additional explanation

Hi, editing the metadata such as customizing sort titles or release date values will carry across to all devices and for all users. 1
