Intro Skip not working.

I have windows emby server 4.7.5.0.

I have changed library settings for my tv shows and i have manually ran the task to identify intros for skipping.

I am using the webclient and i have the setting set to see the skip button, but it doesnt appear.

I have refreshed the entire library metadata and an individual show metadata, but i still cant get it to appear.

 

Any suggestions?

Hi there, can you please go over an example? You need to have at least two episodes per season in order for intros to be detected.

I have 100s of episodes and dozens of shows. The show I check is family guy since it has a consistent into song.

after running the tasks embyserver.txtand refreshing metadata i attempted to watch an episode of family guy, and no skip intro button appears.

Im doing this all on the webapp, but there is no button on the roku client or android client either.

Are you sure this log is from when you refreshed metadata on family guy? I don't see any references to that here.

I refreshed the whole series and also the the episode i tried it on in this log.

I must have grabbed my test log from just coming home when i did the steps last night. i attached a new log after a new attempt.

im having the same issue. worked fine when I used this as a plugin but after updating it has stopped working.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Under my TV Shows library, I have Generate intro video markers set to as a scheduled task and when media is added, I created a Detect Episode Intros task under Scheduled Tasks, and I set Intro skipping: under Playback to Show 'Skip Intro' button. Still, even on shows with plenty of episodes (all 4 seasons of Yellowstone, Stargate SG-1, and Wecrashed) it isn't showing up.

My brother is also having this problem. It works fine on my docker container for Unraid, but the same setup is not working on my brothers Unraid docker container.

I have Emby Premiere and he does not, is this a premiere feature?

If you search the log for "best title sequence", you'll see that it did in fact detect Intros for a number of Family Guy episodes, just not all.

@Luke I haven't seen the Skip Intro button on Firefox, Android, or LG Web OS. I finally tried Incognito on Chrome and it showed up (then I realized it's a premium feature). But then it stops showing up again. Is it intentionally not showing up (caching in browser I assume) after showing up once since it's not premium?

I'm considering paying for premium to get access, but I want to make sure it's going to function properly first.

Yea it shows up a few times and then eventually stops if you don't have Premiere. This is on a per device basis so that's why it showed up with the Incognito window.

Ah, that would explain it. It may be worth putting a note on the blog post announcement about it that it's only for premiere users (unless I missed it). I think others who are requesting support probably don't know either. Thank you for your time explaining.

Hi.  The entire feature in the core is Premiere only.

Until today the issue is still here. I have EMBY premiere and dont have intros detected. You are asking everyone to show you the issue... Yep, you can also trust us when we are more than 10 with the same issue and paying for Premiere. So please... Try to see what is the real issue. Why even with premiere it only scans intro for some shows and not anothers. I'm telling you this because i didn't had this issue while using Plex. And here, people had SkipIntro extension... And it looks like she's no longer available in the catalogue. Please advise

Hi @Bingegang we're happy to help. Can you please provide an example of where intros as missing? How have you configured intro detection? Thanks !

It sees ending credits, shows the chapters, but never the intros. Never saw that button since i'm using EMBY.
If if's a metadata provider or something let me know. Also i have to identify most of the videos by myself. It make me movies in double, but they are not the same name. X (2022) it showed me an WWF movie. Had to identify by myself.

Have you enabled the intro marker detection in your TV shows library and run the task to detect the intros?

Going to take a look. Just saw the option to activate the intro skip. Now looking to make it search the intros to test it. Thanks. I'll let you know
