FizzWhistle 1 Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Hello, I am having an "interesting" issue/series of issues with my TV shows. I don't know if the issues are related or not, but it's possible so I am listing them all here. I will try to be as thorough as possible. Issues one and two are mostly just annoying. Issue three is the reason I am here. 1) The Latest TV Shows section of the home page was truncated to the single most recent show. I first noticed this a couple of weeks ago after adding a few new shows to my collection. This was also about when I setup my server for remote viewing for the first time. (I can't remember the timeline exactly.) This issue is fairly prevalent, but does not appear at all times or on all users. 2) Scan Media Library never completes, and doesn't always stop either. The scan has actually had an issue completing for a long time now. I had previously assumed that it was just choking on the size of my library or was just chugging along trying to get subtitles for everything as it would get stuck at about 90-93%. Because of this I had gotten into the habit of stopping and restarting the scan when I needed the server to find/add a new video file. Lately my Emby server has been getting stuck after I try to stop the media library scan. It will just say "stopping" until I reset the server. This issue does not happen every time I stop the scan, but most times. 3) The TV Shows from one of the folders have mostly turned into blanks icons. My TV shows are scattered throughout eight different folders on three different drives. One of the folders has suddenly forgotten everything about the shows after the first 20. This information used to be there. I have pictures and NFO files set to be saved in the media folders. And they are all still there and intact. (I have also run a disk check, just in case) I can still choose to play the show and it will play the first episode. But none of the pictures, show/episode details, or episodes are shown. If I right click on the show and choose Identify, I can update the show and it will appear correctly again. But I don't want to do this for the 200+ shows I currently have in this folder. As a new wrinkle, last night I attempted to make a New Library comprised of just this folder (I have not yet removed the folder from the original TV shows library) and re-scan the library after resetting the server. Previous scans yesterday had no effect, but this morning the selection of 20 shows had changed. The shows that were being brought to the top because of sort ignoring "the" or "a" in the title were no longer at the top. I would just start all over, but I don't want to lose my watch history for all of these shows so I am hesitant to try any more invasive solutions. I am probably leaving out info that I meant to include... I have attached the most recent log and embyserver.txt file. I hope they are helpful and the right files. Any suggestions on the next step? and reassurance that it won't delete my history? Thank you! Spoiler embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-47982881-e2dc-4e2a-9bdb-8d64c5cb8fb1_1.txt
FizzWhistle 1 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 Whoops! I knew I forgot some info. (And, of course, now I can't edit my post anymore ) I am running the latest version of Emby: Version 4.7.5.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.4 and my TV show library folder is setup to just be TV shows
Luke 42077 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Hi, please try removing the anime plugin, then restart the server and see if that helps allow the library scan to finish. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 OT: @LukeCan the Open Subtitle stop searching when limit is reached instead of spamming? Over 25,000+ times OpenSubtitles rate limit reached @FizzWhistle Can you also post a server log after a restart that shows a library scan.
Luke 42077 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Just now, Happy2Play said: OT: @LukeCan the Open Subtitle stop searching when limit is reached instead of spamming? That won't prevent the library scan from completing, but it may slow it down enough to give the user the impression that it's getting stuck.
FizzWhistle 1 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 Thank you. I've uninstalled the Anime plugin. I will restart the server and see if I can get the library scan to finish (when it's not currently in use). How long should I wait to report back if it is not competing a scan? Is there any other indicator that it has started/finished besides the progress bar on the dashboard? (Just in case it is an issue with my progress bar not going away once a scan has completed.) Is there a way to tell what folder/files were being scanned most recently? To perhaps see where/what is keeping the progress bar from progressing.
Luke 42077 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 If you did this last night then i would go ahead and provide the emby server log file. Thanks.
FizzWhistle 1 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 That seems to have fixed it! (for now) Thank you so much! I've included the most recent log files anyway. I hope it was all that easy. Any idea why the Anime Plugin causes such issues? embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-057c1ded-9019-4985-a011-38987e3f2c69_1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 The Anime plugin is a community addition and right now I think there's a lot of things in it that need improvement.
