Allow scan media to detect tags in Videos

Here above screenshot, there is a Tag written into the video in Windows 10.

 

But on Emby Media server, the tag "Dog" is no where to be found.  It seems it needs to be added manually.  Can we add a feature request to get the media server to scan media to detect tags in the video?

Yes sure I attach the video here.  This video should work.  You may play around and test the tagging of the video by Search Media and let me know?

I forgot to write in the tag.  I will do so now as attached.  Let me know if you can see the tag at your end and try it on the Emby server search media.

Thanks. I see the tags in windows detail view, but unfortunately ffprobe does not detect them, so as of right now, Emby can't detect them either. But we'll keep an eye on it if ffprobe adds support for it.

ffprobe/emby will read an embedded genre tag, which might help you organize your video files until generic tags are available.

Though be warned, it only reads the first genre if you use multiple: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/6949

what is ffprobe?  so if ffprobe supports reading tags from Windows 10 videos, then Emby would show these tags as Emby relies on ffprobe?  So at this point nothing we can do?

I don't know yet, but if there's enough demand then we can look into it.
