svdasein 8 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) I've been wondering for some time if you guys have an item to beef up filtering and searching a bit more (or maybe I'm just missing something). It'd be really nice to be able to say "Filter for this genre and that genre but not this other genre" where the "and" is not "either or". It'd also be really nice if, in addition to that, one could search for plot and or title keywords or phrases with the same sort of boolean permutations available. It seems to me that right now we can e.g. select genres to filter, but if I say select "scifi" and "comedy" I'll get anything with "scifi" or "comedy" but not necessarily only those with both. Do you have any features lined up like that (or is there some way to do this that I'm just missing)? Edited July 4, 2022 by svdasein
GrimReaper 4742 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Hey up, Unfortunately ANDing multiple criteria within same property still ain't possible (they are ORed, but ANDed between different properties), nor has Search field support for conditional logical operators been implemented. Lend your support here: Some more topics discussing same: 1
EmblemJD 21 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 I am honestly baffled how lackluster the search is in its current state. All I can find is posts from 2020 and beyond claiming improvements but still we have limited return of results, no customization like turning off People search in libraries and my biggest gripe currently, the inability to search "within" a text string Are there any plugins that can provide a search experience that is slightly on par with Windows Explorer at least? 2
Badwolf 6 Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 I second that notion your honor. Search should be a basic working feature and it’s totally pathetic in emby.
Luke 42080 Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 HI, yes control over OR's and AND's is something we can look at adding in future updates. Thanks.
