Slow or no playback if the movie has embedded forced subs

Hi Team

LG TV Emby version LG 1.0.35

Windows 11 Emby server 4.7.5.0 (premier subscriber)

If a movie has embedded subtitles (subrip) and one of them is "forced" then the video fails to play and the blue spinning circle appears and just seems to sit there especially on a 4k movie. If I then reload the app on the tv and remember to turn off the subtitles it starts playback almost immediately - if I then choose the forced subs the movie carries on playing but no subtitles. If I use the subtitles search option while the movie is playing it WILL load external srt files with no issue but none of the embedded subs (checking the dashboard on the pc at the same time reported that the movie was being transcoded due to incompatible subtitles)?

I can turn off the subs in the dashboard but a pain having to then download subs which are usually full of adverts when the movie I have has them embedded.

"Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" is turned off (tried on and off and made no difference) :(

Any ideas if a fix is coming? Logs attached.

Hi, if your system can't extract the subtitles quickly enough to be playable, then you should have this option off.

Can we look at a log example with the option off? Thanks.

Not a problem Luke - have a look at Avatar playback around 09:20am

I've done another couple of tests with both "allowed subtitles extraction on the fly" off and then on server side but didn't seem to make any difference.

I have a win 11 system with 32Gb of ram (3200) and a ryzen 3900x 12 core running at 3.8Mhz (all pci-e 4.0) server running on seagate firecuda 520 pci4 m.2 NVMe drive so all should be fast enough and never had a problem in the past only recently has the issue arisen where the spinning circle appears when embedded subs are trying to load (external srt forced subs have never been a problem)?
