jluce50 122 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) I'm running EmbyCon 1.10.21 on Kodi 19.3, both on the same Windows 10 machine as the Emby server. I've tried with direct playback enabled and disabled. Whenever I try to play something I just get the spinning circle. Sometimes I eventually get the "One or more items failed to play..." message, other times it just spins indefinitely. Here's the relevant part of the Kodi log: 2022-06-23 19:17:47.598 T:17532 INFO <general>: Python interpreter stopped 2022-06-23 19:17:47.678 T:18004 INFO <general>: CPythonInvoker(65, C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\script.embuary.helper\plugin.py): script successfully run 2022-06-23 19:17:47.871 T:18004 INFO <general>: Python interpreter stopped 2022-06-23 19:18:02.603 T:15052 ERROR <general>: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: Couldn't connect to server(7) for http://127.0.0.1:57342/tvshows/767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e/65872/embyvideo-663c4c7fa5df42c7b0a866b12e541550-66757-d522fde52c6d37868e938fba559a6956-73244_en_767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e_009_0010-66717-5073-5407-episode-2860774-0-1-1-1-h264-9x10___Lice___WEBDL_720p.mkv 2022-06-23 19:18:02.615 T:15052 INFO <general>: VideoPlayer::OpenFile: http://127.0.0.1:57342/tvshows/767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e/65872/embyvideo-663c4c7fa5df42c7b0a866b12e541550-66757-d522fde52c6d37868e938fba559a6956-73244_en_767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e_009_0010-66717-5073-5407-episode-2860774-0-1-1-1-h264-9x10___Lice___WEBDL_720p.mkv 2022-06-23 19:18:04.816 T:15052 ERROR <general>: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: Couldn't connect to server(7) for http://127.0.0.1:57342/tvshows/767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e/65872/embyvideo-663c4c7fa5df42c7b0a866b12e541550-66757-d522fde52c6d37868e938fba559a6956-73244_en_767bffe4f11c93ef34b805451a696a4e_009_0010-66717-5073-5407-episode-2860774-0-1-1-1-h264-9x10___Lice___WEBDL_720p.mkv 2022-06-23 19:18:04.817 T:20608 INFO <general>: Creating InputStream 2022-06-23 19:18:05.059 T:13684 INFO <general>: initializing python engine. 2022-06-23 19:18:05.496 T:6300 INFO <general>: Skipped 2 duplicate messages.. 2022-06-23 19:18:05.496 T:6300 INFO <general>: CPythonInvoker(68, C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\plugin.video.embycon\default.py): script successfully run 2022-06-23 19:18:05.497 T:13760 INFO <general>: initializing python engine. 2022-06-23 19:18:05.733 T:6300 INFO <general>: Python interpreter stopped Any idea what's going on here? I can use Emby-next-gen, but I'd prefer to use EmbyCon if possible. Edited June 24, 2022 by jluce50
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Hi, can you please attach the complete kodi log file? thanks.
TeamB 2438 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 the address 1287.0.0.1:57342 looks like the internal address the nextgen addon uses. To switch to EmbyCon you will need use the Addon video nodes to navigate and play your media, EmbyCon does not sync your media items to the local Kodi DB.

I had a custom layout I created while using Emby-next-gen, so that's probably it. However, I just reran Embruary setup and setup a new layout using EmbyCon and it still appears to be using the internal address from nextgen. For example, playing from the Next Up widget gives me the same error. You can see how the widgets are setup in the attached image. Any idea what I'm missing here?
jluce50 122 Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 I've attached the entire log file in case that's helpful... kodi2.log
TeamB 2438 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Its still probably using the internal kodi media db that was synced. You need to clear out all your local media entries in your kodi db.
jluce50 122 Posted June 25, 2022 Author Posted June 25, 2022 That was part of it. I also found that the Next Up functionality was deprecated on the server (but you can work around it by creating a custom widget). After clearing out the db and fixing the widget, everything seems to be in order. Thanks! 1
