root@ElmosCloud:~# su - emby

su: warning: cannot change directory to /var/services/homes/emby: No such file or directory

su: failed to execute /sbin/nologin: No such file or directory

I have tried, 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8 Beta..

No luck, the service just will not start...

I have tried to do the DSM7 permissions, but the setup just will not make a System Internal User called Emby..

I only have the regular user..

My DSM does not have PHP, Web Station, Python or Video Station installed.

So what to do next..?

Is any emby server log file generated under

/var/packages/EmbyServer/var/logs

If you try to start via ssh, is there an error message?

via ssh

/volume1/@appstore/EmbyServer/bin# ./emby-server /var/packages/EmbyServer/var

FATAL: kernel too old

OK this is a 10 year old NAS. I'm not sure how realistic it's going to be to get this to work.

I just removed Beta 4.8 and manually installed 4.7.4.0.

It runs!

Hi, can you try 4.8.0.3? thanks.

Same kernel too old message...

I will stick with 4.7.4.0 for now

Hi, can you try re-downloading the beta from our website and let us know how that compares? Thanks.

@Elmo299 Please give the latest beta a try, we've dialed back the kernel requirements for all mono packages.

I have a m1 macbook and a VM with debian 11 buster.  I used the UTM virtual machine to install Debian 11. I was only able to load the emby server using some desktop like cinnamon, lxde or gnome.  Using just the CLI (bash) doesn't work.
