Pommes 12 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Hi, so i recently got a few videos where the subtitles are in ttml format but they just arent recognized by emby (srt are fine). They are named identically to the video files (moviename.English.ttml) On the other side my srt ones (moviename.en.srt) are fine. Any ideas? :)
Luke 42079 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Hi, it's not currently supported but that should be easy enough to add. Thanks.
Pommes 12 Posted June 17, 2022 Author Posted June 17, 2022 thx, is there any eta for their support in the near future or is it best to reencode them to srt? :)
Luke 42079 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 I think with the way we handle subtitles it might be easy to just throw it in since we'll ultimately have ffmpeg convert it to some other format anyway. So if it's an easy throw-in, then it will be in the next release. If not then it will have to wait.
pwhodges 2012 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 I seem to recall being told that already the detection of ttml subs may or may not succeed depending on the version of the ttml spec that was used. Paul
Luke 42079 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Yea sorry I just tested it and the conversion process with ffmpeg is failing. That's not something we can look at right now so I would suggest converting to srt. Obviously ultimately it would be nice to support it though.
