Premiere license did not work when my internet stopped working.

Yesterday (June 14) my ISP had problems, so only my home network worked.  My emby sever is on Unraid, and my LG TV is where I watch.  The TV and Unraid are both connected by ethernet cable to my router.  When I lost internet I could run emby on TV but could not watch my videos that are stored on the unraid hard drives.  TV gave an error message about asking if I want Premiere.  So i checked emby server on unraid and the Premeire license key was still stored there correctly, so what is going on?

Today at about 11am my internet is back working and emby works good on the TV now.

I have about 7 logs from June 14 and attached the one that said "hardware change at 7:22pm", and one from 11:40pm, but if you need another let me know.

Since I have all my tv and video on my local drive, I'd like it to work well without internet.  Is that possible?  Thanks.

Yes, it is a known issue where client apps do not behave gracefully when no internet connection available / server running on cache. It will hopefully be improved in the next version of the app in some forseeable future.

Hi.  How long had it been since you used that TV prior to the outage?

I think it was about 18 hours before that I had used it with no problem.

I should add, I have a nvidea Shield pro at the TV, so emby goes thru that first.

You mean you are running the Android TV app, not the LG TV app?

Yes I’m pretty sure it’s in android in the shield because that was the only way I could get DTS audio to work.

When you say android TV app, does that mean the eMBy client that goes in the shield?  Because if I recall correctly, that is what I did. Maybe the attached log files answer that. I would check when I get home except I’ll be busy getting ready to travel.

Yes.  That app should cache a successful validation for a few days.

"a few days" I guess is the problem.  Although for me it seemed like after one day it stopped working rather than a few days.  Maybe the cache time is affected by if one turns the shield off and on.

So basically, after 1 or more days without internet, Emby Premiere does not work.  For me this is a small disappointment.  My work around was using VLC.  Kind of good i was forced into trying VLC as it appears it may have potential for a good viewing experience.

Also, since Emby will not give me a "text only" list of my shows (which I I want), I may try VLC to see if it can.
