chjohans 34 Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 How exactly does the "Are you still watching" function work? I understand that it will prompt if the user is still watching ,and then kill the stream if the user does not respond to the prompt within a time limit. But how frequent does the prompt appear and what is the timeout value to respond to the prompt? Also, does it differenciate between content, eg TV Series, movies, Live TV or recordings? Does it kill the Live TV stream (and free up the tuner) if it works with Live TV? And how about paused Live TV, that is technically streaming or at least occupying a tuner, does it work for that as well? I'm asking because I have an issue where users do not exit Live TV but just turn off the TV. "Are you still watching" is enabled on the clients (mostly Emby Theater), but does not seem to ever do anything. Exactly how is this supposed to work? Thanks!
Luke 42079 Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Hi, if they idle for a few hours then it will show, so it takes time. And by idle that means they're not pressing any buttons or moving the mouse.
chjohans 34 Posted June 15, 2022 Author Posted June 15, 2022 @Luke So it will eventually stop a paused Live TV stream and free the tuner? I would like to test this, but maybe you could care to be a bot more specific than "a few hours"? Surely this must have some kind of timer with an actual value? Care to share how long this is supposed to take?
Luke 42079 Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Yes, if they don't respond to the prompt. Three hours. But again, any mouse or key input will reset the timer back to zero.
